About the Marshall Democratic Committee

Who we are:

  • We are a duly constituted sub-committee of the Oneida County Democratic Committee and registered as such with the state Board of Elections.
  • The Committee consists of as many as four official members, two members to represent each of the two districts in the Town of Marshall.
  • Non-official individuals may also attend the scheduled meetings and help with our various activities.
  • Our mission is to support the election of Democratic candidates for public office who will champion the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution and work towards legislation based on progressive moral values, in our local community, state, and nation.

What we do:

  • Attend our scheduled meetings as well as all county meetings during the year.
  • Obtain signatures on petitions for our candidates, as well as ourselves, every June
  • Raise public awareness of the Democrats by sponsoring Community based activities.
  • Work for Democratic candidate victories by helping with some of these activities:
    • Recruiting and screening candidates
    • Presenting candidates to the community
    • Distributing campaign materials
    • Making sure we get out the vote by calling voters who have not yet voted on Election Day
    • Writing letters to the editor on behalf of candidates and issues
    • Having fun in all our activities while working to achieve our mission
